In Vastu, mirrors are believed to repel either positive energies or suck all the negative energies and attract prosperity. Mirrors have the capability to deteriorate and stagnate energies or to multiply the positivity of the house, depending on the direction they are placed and what all is reflected in them.
Shape is important
The shape plays a very important role in Vaastu. Make sure the mirror used is regular in shape. Shapes like square and rectangle are considered best.
Mirror at the entrance
Never keep mirror or any shiny thing which acts like mirror on the entrance as entering energies are reflected back.
Even if you place the mirror in right direction and if it is reflects entrance, toilet or kitchen, it causes major health issues. So always ensure what is reflected in mirror. If it reflects a beautiful view or positive things, only then it should be placed.
Mirror in the North
Placing a mirror on the North wall is considered best as North is the direction of money.
Any kind of broken, dusted or unused mirror should not be placed in the house.
Mirrors opposite to each other
Mirrors should not be placed opposite to each other as it causes restlessness and impatience.
Mirror in study room
A mirror in the study room is not recommended as it reduces the concentration of the child.
Mirror in the dining room
A mirror in dining room is recommended but it should be placed on East or North wall, and should reflect food.
Mirror on the ceiling
The mirrors should never be used in the ceiling as it reflects the floor and affects the peace.
Mirrors in the narrow passage
To make the passage look broader, people put large mirrors in the narrow passages but it is very wrong as it attracts negative energies.
Increase the prosperity
Putting a small mirror in your locker or cash box will double up the prosperity but make sure the mirror is clean and money is reflected in that.
Mirrors in bathroom
The mirrors in bathroom should ideally be on North or east wall but at-times there are practical constraints because of internal arrangement, which is fine. But make sure the WC is not reflected in the mirror.
