How Colour Therapy Works?

Colour TherapyColour often affects our mood, energy, and influences us to feel good or bad profoundly effecting mentally and psychologically. If any of the chakra corresponding to specific colour gets afflicted with some illness certainly the colour of that chakra changes. Therefore to balance the chakra for good health and well-being, colours that signify our health have to be healed. Any imbalance of chakra can make our life difficult, thus to equate such colour therapy is a best remedy which must be adopted.

The term used for people using colour therapy is said to be ‘chromotherapy’ and according to practitioners, the lack of specific colour in human system cause ailments. Chromotherapy is a technique of restoring balance by means of applying coloured light to the body chakra. The application of specific colour is applied in the form of food and sunlight. Let us concentrate on the significance of spectrum of seven colours associated to our body energy and chakras.

Red- Red colour is symbolic of passion, anger and aggression that stimulates arterial blood and keeps the extremities cool. This colour is reactive and full of energy; usually people who love red colour are passionate about life, assertive and aggressive by nature. Red colour is contained in food like beet root, radish, tomato, watercress, red-skinned food and fruits, red berries and water melon.

Orange- Orange colour is embodiment of pride and prosperity having warm effects. This particular colour is helpful for gallstones, stomach ailments, chest and kidneys and stimulates blood. Orange is energizing colour contained in foods like carrot, orange, apricot, mango, peach and papaya.

Yellow- Yellow colour is embodiment of joy, happiness and communication also considered as laxative and diuretic that stimulates brain, liver and spleen. It is contained in lemon, sweet lemon, grapes, pumpkin, melon, banana, mango, yellow apple and guava.

Purple- Purple or Indigo helps in stimulating and treating ear, nose, eyes and sinus disorders. It is a colour of courage, authority and calmness also associated with intellect. Foods like plum, blue plum, beans and grapes contain purple colour.

Green- Green is the sedative tint which is an embodiment of harmony and peace also represents hope and balance. The food containing green colour are green leafy vegetables, green mango, beans, Indian gooseberry and pears.

Blue- Blue is soothing, represent truth, nobility and serenity. Blue tint alleviates pain and helps healing burns. Food containing blue colour is blue plum and blue grapes.

Violet- A powerful colour that represent innovation, creativity and power and curative for people undergoing emotional trauma. It purifies blood, relieves skin disorders, ease headaches, eye and ear problems. Food containing violet colour are eggplant, black carrot and purple grapes.
